Ten,

From that article:

Michigan projects

The huge spending bill the U.S. Senate is expected to take up Tuesday allocates more than $154 million for Michigan, including such projects as:

* $25.4 million to construct an Ambassador Bridge border station.

* $250,000 to Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries for a youth corrections program.

* $500,000 to the Mexicantown Community Development Corp. for a Detroit welcome center.

* $300,000 for Focus: HOPE to renovate a Detroit facility.

* $175,000 for design and construction of the Belle Isle Natural Zoo.

* $150,000 to the Jewish Association for Residential Care in Farmington Hills.

* $225,000 to the city of Menominee in the Upper Peninsula to renovate a recreational facility.

* $105,000 for Closing the Gap in Lansing for computer training for low-income students.

* $450,000 for Automation Alley in Troy for facilities construction and improvements to a technology center.

* $225,000 for the City Opera House Heritage Association in Traverse City.

* $1 million for Oakland County Sheriff's Department for hand-held digital fingerprint and photo devices for patrol cars.

* $350,000 to Wayne County's Center for Mental Health Services for anti-addiction project.

That sounds like pork to me.

And reading this morning's WSJ, Bush "cut" many of the most popular pork program among Congress; cut's that are sure not to hold through the process. He excluded about $50B needed for Iraq and Afghanistan, and "anticipating large savings by making the federal government operate more efficiently, a time worn budget pledge that rarely pays off" as wsj says.

So the huge $521B deficit is really smoke and mirrors, in the end it will be much higher.
