The massive government waste that was created by both parties is consuming our own earned money and is causing people to become angry with what they perceive to be little chance in this country to succeed. Of course they spend there time complaining on threads like this one instead of working harder...but, until people become more responsible for themselves, the problem shall expand.
People forget about the market here. How immense it wonderful it truly is...If youm want to go to China, great, that is your decision, but I prefer to invest in companies here.
Spending has grown about 20% since 2001. There is no political want to curtail spending. There has not been and there will not be anyone who will lead us to stop spending too much. Taxes are not too low, spending is too high. Higher taxes right now will slow economic growth. We need that growth, right now and do not want to slow it.
We must reduce the federal workforce, and reduce overhead.
Reduce foreign aid that has shown not to be effective and with money going to corrupt governments, it serves no purpose, close unneccessary bases, curb healthcare increases and litigation awards, reduce the ag subsidies, and give the states more management authority. It does not belong in Washington, where the greatest waste is created.
And, we must look at what assets we can sell to reduce our debt. People concerned about the debt and deficit must work together in wanting to make the tough decisions instead of wanting the debt to use as a weapon for their party to win, or for additional spending to buy votes. The two parties are irresponsible, there is no doubt about that, it is time we work together and tell them so. I know it will not happen, as the posters here are such strong party memebers and unwilling to change their minds. That is reality, and this reality enables the parties to put themselves first and our nation's welfare second.
The entertainment value of this thread has dropped far more than the dollar. There are no good ideas. It is simply anger and bashing. This is not a healthy thread, but it has become an addiction for so many of you. Best of luck with that problem.
I wish all luck in their futures. We live in a great country, and it is a shame that is not so clear anymore to some of you... Lizzie, take sometime to see more than what you do. You will benefit from it.
Kenneth, is the best party poster on this thread. You do a very good job of being a biased party member promoting your party. If you added more honesty to your posts you would become much more effective. Good luck doing what you are trying to do in swaying others, just do it more honesty, we all lose when people make a decision based on disingenuous information. It should be made on facts.
