The wonderful thing about this Belief, is that it never requires any hard proof, any evidence. You can continue to Believe, without any WMD ever being found anywhere.

Straw man. Lifting sanctions was not the alternative to our war of aggression. Sanctions and inspections were working, and could have been continued indefinitely.

We have no idea how many died, and the total is probably 2 or 3 times that high, if you include all the dead. So far. Our military was given instructions to not count how many we killed, and especially not to count the civilian women and children killed. This was a deliberate policy, of hiding the ugly results of our military aggression from the American people.

Debating the ethics of war, is sort of like debating the ethics of rape. If a man rapes a woman, after saving her from being raped by two men, is he a humanitarian? If, after he rapes her, he marries her, and makes sure she has clean water to drink, and helps paint the schools her kids go to, does that make it all OK? Normal kill? What would Jesus do?

Underlying ideology: The world can only be made safe, by Americans holding guns to the heads of all non-Americans. Notice, though, that by any objective measure, there isn't much "cooling down" going on. Rather, America is lighting fires all over the world, and now our fingers are getting burned. |
