I've never had a chance to paddle in the Adirondacks yet. I've been down to visit the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake. Went down to see some of the furniture and wooden boats in their collection as I do a little carpentry, etc.. Every been to the museum? Here's a link to their page:

Didn't have the canoe up top on the truck on that trip or I might have put it into Saranac Lake or one of the others in that area. However, it actually seemed a little on the busy side on some of the lakes that I managed to take a look at from the roadside. Most of the places where I go paddling up here are on lakes where there are few or no cottages or power boats. I also do quite a bit of tripping in small rivers, creeks or into marshes to go bird-watching and so on. When I was in Vermont one of the last times, I did see a couple of rivers that I'd love to take my canoe down and may do that yet. Still so many places to explore up here though, that a person would need 3 or 4 lifetimes to get around to even half of them. (o:
