I wish I could remember the actual quote, but old-timers may recall our good friend, lee cooper, explaining to Mr. Kuhns somewhere in those lost years of the SI AZNT thread:

"Now, put both yer hands behind your ass. That's your ass. Now, see that hole in the ground? That's a hole in the ground. See the difference?"

I miss that ol' lee cooper dude. Thar' ain't nothin like home-spun wisdom to put it all on the line with such circuitous oracularity.
