ELWOOD EXPERIENCES HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT

Noted headline creator, SI denizen, and erstwhile joke teller, Elwood Blues, told one lawyer
joke too many this week, according to sources.

"Yes," said one SI poster, who spoke on condition of
anonymity. "A certain person of the lawyerly
persuasion was not amused by Elwood's joke
implying that lawyers violated the Ten Commandments
as a matter of course."

"In fact, " continued the poster, "The injured party
was pretty teed off by the implication, and vehemently
denied that she had ever killed anyone, at least to her knowledge."

Such party had also been overheard to remark that
"hostile environments aren't limited to courthouses."

When asked whether there were denials of
other violations, the source said, "Heck no! Look what
happened to Martha Stewart when she made
statements beyond the initial narrow
denials of the allegations against her!..."
