Albert, No, I was contending that we did not dismantle all of our missiles in Turkey. In other words, neither side kept the letter of the agreement in toto. I do believe we took out most of the ones in Italy. I still remember Kruschev eating oranges in Italy saying, "I love Italian oranges. But I know you hide American missiles there, so, if war comes, I will have to destroy these oranges I love." <G> This is one of many places where I got my info, though most of it is just memory (which can be shaky) and stuff I picked up when I was trying to get a gig as a translator during the Kosygin visit to New York. library.thinkquest.org
