Do you realize how many Asian students are in our graduate schools learning science and engineering? I'll guess that at least 50% of the PhD candidates are Asian. Ask some grad students in science and eng. how many of their grad teaching assistants are Asian... The disproportionate numbers also carry through to the top R&D labs in the country. IBM's Watson Research Lab is at least 60% Asian(very few are Japanese) and the company recently announced the transfer of 4000 software jobs to India. Why are there so few American kids going for science and eng. PhDs????

Re: Creativity...... A good measure of creativity is the number of patents issued to a company. For the year 2003..it kinda belies the Japanese stereotype, doesn't it?
