My understanding was that this was not permitted. Either by the funds themselves or by the SEC.

Now I will be happy to admit I am wrong but I have never heard of any such thing. ETFs and closed end funds can trade, but funds holding other traded securitities and valued in terms of them cannot be marked to market except when the markets are not active.
