O'49er,

There is plenty of meat in that 3 M's post!

I must tell you that I am fascinated by you. You obviously have a
very broad knowledge base, most of which comes from experience, which
is the best teacher. I enjoy your piercing view and find your reasoning
to be with understanding.

But I must tell you I am puzzled that you believe there was ever a
large deposit of gold at Busang; that others are wrong in their
evaluations. (Freeport,Strathcona...)

I know you have not been to Busang as you have mentioned. I am wondering
who it is that you believe so strongly, that the gold was ever there.
Is it Felderhoff? Felderhoff (and either Puspos or Alo at the airport)
did state publically they believe it is there.

But even Walsh accepts that the find was false and wants to find out
who perpetrated the fraud.

I think it does come down to a question of belief, when an actual
observation is not done by oneself.

I have re-read a fair quantity of this thread again (now with rear
view mirrors). I must say that had there actually been gold in the ground
and Bre-X survived the Busang War that you would have been a hero to
many. You kept your head and ensured others kept theirs. I admire you
for your ability to hold your position, your point of view. I may not
agree with your conclusions, but holding ones position is what it is
all about. That is power!

I spoke on the thread because I felt that the industry has been dealt
a heavy blow, that something needs to be done to make it recover. It
was frustrating to me to see this victim attitude so prevalent. It was
also disappointing to me that with so many contributing from all
perspectives in the industry that the sum total of 26,000 posts was
a confusion. I do know that it takes individuals to run the show
(so to speak), that nothing ever comes out of 'Group Thought' but
somehow with the internet, maybe.... well I was hoping....

I do think though the 'gold is there' issue needs to be done. You loyalty
to who you believe is so far unshakeable. But does the person deserve
the loyalty?

Anyhow, it is for people like you that I come to SI. I won't
necessarily agree with you, and you may get a few jabs from me, but oh
well.....at least it may be interesting.

Warmest Regards,

Keith
