Kerry is clean. The contributions came years after the insurance bill incident. No direct relation. Doesn't sound good maybe, but all senators try and keep funding in their own states. Part of their job. Texas has been getting billions in pork under Bush-Cheney-Delay.

Kerry and Theresa have 650 million. Unlikely a 30 K contribution years later would influence him in any way years before. Tis story is probably part of the Bush smear campaign. Looks like Kerry has already denied any influence other than wanting not to lose funding for his own state. Name one senator in history who has not done that.
