How else can you take them?

If you believe in that God, the way it works is you have to play by His rules, as expressed in the Bible and NT. You can't decide which ones you want to follow like you are ordering from a chinese menu. You either accept the entire package or you don't.

There is not much room for interpretation in the passage I quoted.
