Tomas,

An article this week found in the oil industry newsrag "Upstream" stated the regional Malaysian government is making noises about a 5% backin to the PM-3 concession. PM-3 is located in an area under a local government's administration who apparently form the only elected opposition to the current ruling party in Malaysia.

I believe all Malaysian contracts have this stipulation but I do not know if it is commonly exercised or if the the JDA area of PM-3 is subject to this provision. Also, would the 5% come out of Petronas's interest or the partners? Any facts or comments on this?
