Catholics hold saints in much higher standing than Protestants and worship hundreds of them....therefore they are treated as gods..
I am not Catholic, but, maybe you should consider the difference between "worship" and honor. The Bible tells us to honor one another and give honor to whom honor is due: (Romans 12:10, Romans 13:7)... I honor one of my friends(a saint) for his spirit of giving, but I do not worship him, nor is he treated as a god.
but clearly has god-like powers
and what might those be?
according to believers, so he/she/it must also be god, but perhaps a lesser god..
a brain surgeon can do a surgery that I cannot even imagine....does that make him/her a god? Devils and demons are no gods, and if the are worshipped as gods, then it is only by those who desire to make them gods and they would not be believers.
Jesus.....right up there next to God, but still a lesser God unless the big guy has turned over the business to him
Jesus...with God from the beginning...came to earth as a man, left this earth as a Savior. is not a lessor God, He is One of the Godhead three. Father---Son---Holy Spirit.
So you see...lessor gods are only manmade.
There is only One God. |
