"You can find this in any first year mythology or world religion class."

LOL What does that have to do with the price of eggs?

You challenged my assertion; "that the Diaz essay begins by ascribing the worst of motives to religious viewpoints while flattering himself as the noble seeker of truth that is completely objective"

You call this a "wild accusation"

..." Man, in his desperate search for answers, attempted to find an explanation to how he and his world came to exist. This was the motivation behind the many myths of creation that prevailed in human religions and cultures...

Science, in contrast, is in search of the ultimate and most reasonable explanation supported by the evidence"

I have to reiterate either you are unable to read, (which I doubt) or you are so emotionally committed to being right all the time that you are unwilling to concede even the tiniest point even when you are obviously in error. Go ahead, act like a little child and pretend you have no idea what I'm talking about.

According to Diaz; "Man" (pre scientific ignorant man) is so "desperate" that he makes up stories that have no basis in reality. "Science, in contrast" (did you catch that word contrast?????) is not "desperate" about it's search. No, it is "reasonable" unlike the irrational "Man". It is
free of "motives" and it follows the "evidence" as opposed to the agenda laden stories that have no basis in reality.

That is what is known as "poisoning the well" and it's nothing but a cheap debating trick!
