I think the most idiotic job in the US is the IT project manager - they typically have no clue as to what is involved (technically) and that's why they suggest let's outsource this. With no technical knowledge and focused purely on costs, these incompetents are the ones responsible for the current disaster. Until US management learns to value technical ability over golf-course skills IMHO this country is in deep s*t.
