Tell me something, Prolife ...
You are obviously quite sure in your beliefs. I'm curious, why so sure? Did you investigate other religions before you became Christian? Why, for instance, did you not become a Hindu or Muslim? If, for example, you had been born in Iraq, why wouldn't you have become a Muslim instead -and then been equally sure you had the One Right Answer (Islam)? Would your handle then been Pro-Osama?
The standard answer here, of course, is "faith". Yet Muslims, to cite one example, also have "faith". As do other religions. It is always strange to me, all these competing religions, all sure they are right, all making the same arguments in their favor, all sure the others are wrong. Do you ever stop and consider that? You sure were fortunate not to have been born a Muslim, don't you think? But it seems to have been an accident of birth that got you there ... (I'm presuming you grew up in a Christian area and thus were given your religion by society, versus be exposed to any alternative. Correct me if I'm wrong).
Or: do you think all religions are true ... for example, that Allah and God are the same entity? If I, for example, converted from "unbeliever" to Muslim or Budhist, would that be progress in your eyes?
Btw, I'm not being tricky here. Just pointing a standard thing which bothers "unbelievers", this total sense from each religious sect that they are in the right and all others are wrong. They all want you to be a believer ... but only in *their* sect. |
