I am hoping for a Kerry/Edwards ticket. I see Ann's point, I think Kerry's appearance- but more importantly demeaner, with a sort of downer monolithic voice- is a negative. Kerry's look is not inspiring and after Bush, people want an optimist. This is not a woman thing, its a PR thing, just the facts.

OK but looks aren't everything and Kerry has overcome his shortcomings due to his electability.

I have thought all along that wrt this election, the Iraq outrage would subside a little and be replaced with trade. Dean was the strongest message wrt trade and Edwards #2. Kerry made the war issue his theme although he appears to be coming around on these trade matters. I would feel better about Kerry with an Edwards VP though, Edwards really understands the realities of trade.

I really think democrats will win the white house in 04 and one of the houses of congress. This economy is going to stagnate along here with no real improvement for citizens. Supply side economics just doesn't work in a global environment so there is nothing Bush can do, he just has to sit there and watch the outrage build as these large corps get richer and richer and workers see no improvement and deficits get worse.

As a testimonial to what congress is now thinking about Bush popularity, congress doesn't have the votes to make the Bush tax cuts permanent. They are going to let those lapse. A year ago, the republican congress did everything Bush wanted. Now, he is something of a lame duck thank god. I expect no movement on that immigration plan either. This is what happens when politicians think its going to be a regime change in the WH. They stall on everything.
