Something wrong there, that site is still giving the number i posted, almost an hour later ... and even after refreshing the page, so it's not my cache ..... also it says this -

' The estimated population of the United States is 293,228,518
so each citizen's share of this debt is $23,913.49.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of
$1.77 billion per day since September 30, 2003!

... so either they had the number behind at the time of Croc's post, or advanced at the time of mine? .... maybe they run it ahead for the weekend, and book off ... hey, why work overtime when you're that deep in hock -g- .... but dividing 1.770 billions by their population figure of .293 billion, that's six bucks and four cents per day, sundays included, for every man, woman, child, and undecided in the country

[edit] - the guy has a great faq page, explains it all, it's updated daily, amounts vary widely, it can actually go down some days, overall it's a steep climb though - brillig.com
