I don't know Victor, but at least the democratic candidates are talking about the jobs problem. Bush and his supporters, like Jack Welch, are acting like the problem doesn't exist and dismissing the statistics which clearly show the issue as an anomaly. Jack Welch knows full well all those victims of "household employment" didn't make the decision by choice. Notice GE is hiding their offshoring by using a subcontractor, as many US companies do.
In my case, I am not working for a company. But the fact that Juniper networks, which is the #1 engineering upstart looking to take on Cisco, is offshoring their entire engineering and R&D in India really bothers me. It means this is the last generation of US companies to dominate the networking field, even though we invented the internet and could probably ride on the tech revolution for another 50 years as a nation if we tried to hold on to at least some of our own IP. We already know Huiwei stole Cisco IP and is selling in China, now Juniper IP will most likely be stolen and thats the end of it. To top it off, Juniper just got a 50 - 100 million government project to do the GIG-BE network. These are my taxpayer dollars, used to create jobs in india and lay off US engineers. This is for the birds, I want republicans out before much more damage is done to our economic infrastructure. To compensate for the US IP that Juniper is using to build their company, if they are not going to create jobs, HERE, then I would say they should pay 10% of their revenue for the rest of their existance as a company to UC Berkeley or some other higher ed US charity. These US universities do not exist as vehicles for CEOs to plunder and transfer all IP for the future of india as a nation.
John Kerry has a plan to secure America’s economic future and ensure that workers can achieve the American dream in our changing economy. John Kerry has the courage to roll back Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans so we can invest in education and healthcare. He isn’t afraid to crack down on corporations that are hiding their money in Bermuda to avoid paying their fair share and will end special tax giveaways to companies that ship jobs abroad. And he will defend the rights of workers, consumers and shareholders in holding corporations accountable for their actions. johnkerry.com |
