Chris, BS, they do not have the oil now and will never have it because the oil revenue will be used for rebuilding Iraq for many years to come.
For some reason people seem to feel there is a oil shortage. The Canadian tar sands have 500 years supply of oil for the world. People also do not realize that if you dig down to an old oil well, you find oil sands. Once oil reaches about $100 a barrel, we will discover the huge amounts still underground in taxs and Pennsylvania.
The middle east will run out long before that.
Rest of world oil demand will soon buy it away from the USA and make it go towards $100 in 20-30 years. We will adapt. 50% of oil is now wasted through inefficient uses in cars, furnaces and badly sealed/insulated houses.
Once people realize this and governments promote domestic insulate and seal programs, and outlaw inefficient furnaces and lightbulbs we will find we have lots of gas/oil.
In addition, they are now perfecting enzymatic digestors that will make oil from biomass. All the old paper, straw, leaves, and other plant woodwaste we now waste can be fermented into hydrocarbons. Remember, that is where oil came from. In 20-30 years it will become huge. We can make oil from biomass now, we just need to enlarge the scale and up the efficiency.
One of many brought up on a search for 'biomass +conversion +oil'
btgworld.com

Make no mistake, we will be fully into biomass conversion in 20-30 years. It makes more sense to do that instead of addoing to the CO2 by burning oil. Total use of biomass would completely replace oil. Remember biomass rots into CO2, so burning it as oil is the same thing. Increasing CO2 levels will also make plant growth far more prolific.

Pay no attention to Rush Limbaugh, hs is wrong about global warming(but correct about many other things.....he is a true mixture truth, error, and politically motivated partisan politics)
