First, Russert's excellent question (that Bush evaded): RUSSERT: The Bush-Cheney first three years, the unemployment rate has gone up 33 percent, there has been a loss of 2.2 million jobs. We've gone from a $281 billion surplus to a $521 billion deficit. The debt has gone from 5.7 trillion, to $7 trillion, up 23 percent. Based on that record, why should the American people rehire you as CEO?
The exact increase in the U.S. debt under George W. Bush:
$5,727,776,738,304.64 On Jan 20, 2001 (Bush takes office)
$7,009,333,811,289.69 On Feb 5, 2004 (most recent update)
So Bush has increased the debt by $1.28 Trillion. Just wait about 3 months and he will have reached your $1.5 Trillion number!
  Best to all.
