The truth is that Bush lied to get us into war, in the process using the tragedy of 9-11 as an excuse, scaring us about an imminent threat boogey man who did not really exist and then used our military as photo op props to play dress up commander in chief. All this after he went AWOL many years ago when it was his turn to serve.

Bush is not a terrible person, but on this he is a fraud. He poses as one thing and really is another. He tells us one thing while doing and knowing another. Now he is pretening he ddidn't know, can't remember, must have shown up, did the best he could, is proud of his service. But in terms of military leadership we can do better. A lot better.
