Here is Kerry's defense-related plan in detail: johnkerry.com In terms of military spending, some especially on the right have never met a program they didn't want to spend our money on. John knows the military, what we need and what we don't need. While he is strong on defense he is tough on waste. If he voted against a bill it was because there was a lost of waste in it. Because he wanted it rewritten, items taken out or put in. Each vote is a different deal. Sometimes those defense bills are crammed with the kind of pork barrel spending and boondoggles a responsisble senator needs to eliminate. This is one of McCaibn's biggest beefs with the Bush spending plans. Chock fulla pork and corporate welfare payoffs.
