I agree. Much of the law established around marriage is not useful anymore. Why are we hanging on to it? Tradition? Demagoging? Before people sue to marry someone of the same sex or amend the Constitution to protect marriage, these things should be reevaluated. We should rethink the whole thing, see what our current needs are, and legislate only that. This polarization is a huge rut. Actually, two huge ruts.
