Jack Welch was interviewed on CNN this afternoon and he is supporting Bush but said he wished the Dems had moved ahead to nominate Dean -- and provide Bush with an easier opponent...he feels the Kerry / Bush match-up this fall will be a close one.

Was that the "on the money" show? If so that was a repeat from friday and I saw it. Welch said the jobs figures are understating unemployment due to self employment- in other words the same old "economy isn't as bad as figures suggest" swansong from republicans. Wrong, as Jack Welch knows full well since GE is such a huge offshorer. 2 mos ago GE fired every in-house lawyer and moved the role to Bangalore. That was 300 100K jobs in one day. Unless these Bush supporters can admit these issues to themselves, they won't be able to correct them. When I see denial coming from people like Welch, who I am certain have Bush's ear, it makes me more sure that the economy will not improve under Bush.
