Membership Revocation Announcement
VJ Singh has been stripped of his status as an honorary Mudge. He was appointed after his delightful remarks about Annika Sorenstam, but showed his true colors yesterday. Playing in the final group of the AT&T Pebble Beach (what ever happened to Bing Crosby?), his nearest competitor, Arron Oberholser, hit into the water on #8 (I've done that, too) and took a double bogey. The dastardly Singh walked up to Oberholser on the next tee, and said, "Hey, there are a lot of holes to go. You've only played 8 holes." What a disgrace. His reputation for curmudgeonry was clearly undeserved.
A soundbite from Hall of Famer Lynn Swan merits mention. He confessed that, after a humbling day at Spyglass, he went home, scraped off the mud, had a shower, put on his 4 Superbowl rings, stood in front of a mirror, and said, "I am a good athlete, I am a good athlete".
