It is OK to drive SUVs, provided you grow your veggies.<g>.
I think many of us here are sold on reduced energy usage, but some fall into the 'every little bit helps' school while others are looking for 'maximum bang for the buck'.
Leaking energy from TV's etc wastes 50w / day, but I would be too lazy to unplug and plug TV's.
Putting blinds on all your windows may be cheap, but I might be too lazy to open and close them.
Well if you ate locally grown veggies, you could have a greater impact than car, house etc. according to this guy from Sweden.
Avg. energy use by family of 4 per year ~ 70,000 Kwh/year.
Car and house are small parts of this, 15-20K Kwh each. Indirect usage by that bag of chips or steak is a lot more than you might have thought.
