"That is precisely the argument he uses. The selective use of ellipses is a feeble attempt to bolster what is a weak argument"

Well, there is nothing weak about the argument. It is accepted in the halls of academia. The following paragraph is simply a prelude to the argument. What in the following paragraph do you dispute? Surely there is agreement on this, is there not?

"..." Man, in his desperate search for answers, attempted to find an explanation to how he and his world came to exist. This was the motivation behind the many myths of creation that prevailed in human religions and cultures, of which the most remarkable and famous is the Biblical account ; which is simply that, a majestic and enlightening explanation that uses a creator’s power as a backdrop and is not supported by any reasonable evidence. Many religious believers firmly reject the evolutionary theory because of the faith they have in a belief that has been the foundation behind their perspective of life, but it is simply a tale created by a human group that tried to satisfy it’s search for answers and came to the point were they had to make them up."

"Man, in his desperate search for answers, attempted to find an explanation to how he and his world came to exist"

Surely, THIS is true?

"This was the motivation behind the many myths of creation that prevailed in human religions and cultures, of which the most remarkable and famous is the Biblical account"

Who would deny this other than a nut?

"Many religious believers firmly reject the evolutionary theory because of the faith they have in a belief that has been the foundation behind their perspective of life,"

Nothing to dispute there, is there?

"it is simply a tale created by a human group that tried to satisfy it’s search for answers and came to the point were they had to make them up."

Well, this is obviously disputed, isn't it? But thousands of diverse tales and thousands of years of evolution and centuries of scientific research would seem to support the assertion. You, yourself, claim that religious beliefs (other than yours) are based on myth and the search for answers and are "made up". So why are you attacking Diaz?? His essay is not about disproving any of thousands of religious "heaven's Gates", but about justifying evolution as a fact. Chicken eggs come from chickens. That does not prevent you from searching for a "God". Take it easy and don't be so uptight.
