"Man, in his desperate search for answers, attempted to find an explanation to how he and his world came to exist"..."This was the motivation behind the many myths of creation that prevailed in human religions and cultures"

I commented:

"Who would deny this other than a nut?"

Your response is:

"That is intellectually dishonest!"

But your assertion is untrue. I am being honest; and I believe that only a nut would deny what is common information to almost all people with even a modicum of knowledge.

"What Diaz is doing is making unfounded assertions and casting aspersions on the motives of those who oppose his theories"

I have already shown that his assertions had no relationship to "poisoning the well". As to your claim that his assertions are unfounded...do you mean all of them or only some? Which assertions are unfounded?

"The particular weak argument in question was yours. Do try to follow. There are ellipses in his thinking but not in his essay."

The following is rationally interpreted as relating to HIS argument. If you meant it otherwise, you did not convey it rationally. So please stop with the smart-alecky remarks.

That is precisely the argument he uses. The selective use of ellipses is a feeble attempt to bolster what is a weak argument. Look at the the first two paragraphs as a unit that contrasts two positions. Clearly Diaz maintains that his is the reasonable or rational position as opposed to the one which he is contrasting
