It was Gore who said "betrayed," and "betrayed this country" in the context of war was intended to connote treason. How otherwise?

I have no trouble reading that as "deceived the country to get them to back his war plans, seduced them." I know the Bushies bristle at that notion, as well, but it's not the same class as an accusation of treason. It's just pulling the wool over our eyes.

Of course, he could have meant treason, but I doubt it.
