It's becoming another relic of poor leadership. Maybe with a change of leadership in the US, the Palestinian Authority, and Israel, the leaky ship will start to float. Bush's reelection is by no means a shoo-in, and Sharon shall we say has his problems. Arafat alas appears permanent, which alone prevents any sunshine in that gloomy picture. It's the Geneva Dischord for the next little while at least.
Re: Jewish political contributions to black races, if that is unworthy, then why don't the black voters retaliate by choosing the other candidate? Everything in the article you cited is perfectly legal. It's also not unique; piss off the Cuban-American National Foundation, and just see how your Florida election fares. The NRA highlights unfriendly legislators, and the National Association of Realtors has a big healthy PAC. A judicial candidate who lets out that he is pro-choice is toast in many parts of the country, and oh yes the out of area right-to-life money can flow to oppose him. The only difference I see is that AIPAC et all are quite successful; but the mighty NRA and the NEA can't be far behind. There seems to be a lobby or a PAC for just about everything (although I looked but couldn't find one for Estonian-Americans!). If perfectly legal lobbying, pressure and strategic contribution by the Jewish lobby is bad, it's all bad, so outlaw it ALL. And if you do, please start with the NEA! John |
