re: JF, I don't mean to get confrontational here, but didn't you want proof that Al Qaeda is in Iraq?

Before the war, yes, there was no proof that AQ was in Iraq (because they were not there). Of course they are there now; as I've said before, the Iraq war is the perfect recruiting campaign for AQ. Bush says he's killed or captured 2/3 of their leaders, but he's probably increased their membership 4 fold. And they go where their enemy is, not were they are not.

re: I guess with Bush, it's damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Why did he release that secret plea for AQ's to go to Iraq? It's not like he's shy about keeping secrets for "national security". Was it to be less "damned"? You bet it was, at the possible expense of our troops.

If you want to be confrontational, think about Bush and his motivations. He will do anything, regardless of principle or consequences, to get reelected. It's a first in my experience of Presidents and their responsibility to the country. All the rest have risen above personal ambition, probably because of the weight of the office, to do what's right for the country. Reps and Dems.

He's by far the worst in my lifetime.
