Remember, when Lee Atwater, Roger Ailes, et. al., were throwing dirty tricks at Dukakis? Well, guess who was sitting in the same offices with expensive cowboy boots riding high on a desk or few, and getting groomed? You guessed it, it was a young W.

And one has to also consider that the Bush relationship with Tenet is a funny one also. Think how heavy the influence and connectivity must be, dating back to when the elder Bush was head of the CIA; and just imagine whether or not there are any boundaries of ethics so long as the sole intent is for keeping the power to control the inside deals.

Notice, for example, how seldom if at all that Clinton strayed in dealing with Saudi and Iraqi issues. Tenet was his CIA guy also. Could Clinton have been an even better president? I think so, but something always seemed like it was holding him back.

All of the above is one of the reasons why I've become impressed with the populism of Edwards vs. the money of Kerry.
