I operate on evidence. I try to dig down down for the quantifiers. I think we have identified the issues. Even the deflationists have to now acknowledge the evidence that a whole spectrum of input prices is on a rampage. Misheldo would argue that it can't be passed on to the final consumer. I argue that much (maybe not all?) of it will be passed on (if rates stay low and inflationary) directly or through the backdoor as you put it. I'd say it's one of the most important economic and market issues of the day, so let's tackle it? In my mind, anybody who wishes to enter this debate needs to present third party evidence one way or the other. I don't care what the perspective is, but those who just shoot from the hip without any backup may be dealt with derisively by me (fair warning).

I'm tired of just hearing opinions. I think this board has really regressed because of it. In all fairness, I think I've worked hard to add something more than just my opinion. So anybody who presents good current evidence (such as a key player getting totally squeezed, while the consumer gets a free ride) that actually adds to the discourse (on any side of the issue), will get my thanks and appreciation. BTW, thanks for yours.
