Germany declared war on us on December 11, 1941.

So? We still didn't have to go over there. We could have stayed home and told them to come get us any time they wanted to try. And since there were no intercontinental missiles or air transports then, and Germany didn't have any aircraft carriers, they would have had to sent troops across the Atlantic by ship, and we could have destroyed them no sweat.

We were in no danger from the Germans.
