ok same as me more or less
Many retired people don't see the angst going on in the workforce. And polls are "likely voters" which tend to be skewed to the older folks. Have you talked to a new college graduate lately? I had 30 people working for my startup company in 01, all stanford and berkeley grads who had watched their counterparts strike it rich all through the 90s... I'm not talking the bubble either, I mean 1994 timeframe... these younger people have NO options, NONE. Out of the 30 laid off people virtually all of them are working for 50% of their prior pay now. 4 or 5 found jobs in software, the rest are working in retail. There is no professional white collar entry level work. Another friend from the same company went back to harvard for an MBA after being laid off, she was shocked that after graduating in 03 there were no jobs for Harvard MBAs! Nothing. The only people that think this economy is working are the passive income people. But what they don't get is that passive income gains come from US companies built by *working* people. There is no improvement on the horizon for the labor force if you really understand the issue as I feel I do. It will take legislation to fix and republicans won't do that. Their end is near.
