-Shrub is essentially saying that the heightened state of alert after 911 is justification for invasion. -That doesn't explain why the invasion was planned a full year before 9/11. ======== It's an excuse. Apparently Wolfowitz et al came up with the 3 excuse pillars: WMDs, terrorism, humanity. They've used all 3 of them to sell the war to us. I believe they went to Iraq for two major reasons: oil and revenge for Papa. (Wolfowitz has been trying to sell the Iraq invasion since the first Gulf War. Clinton didn't buy it and neither did Shrub until after 911.)
