I suspect the Democrats could gain a lot of senior citizen votes, by taking a stand against Greenspan's ultra easy monetary policy. Rates of 1% or less on savings accounts and CDs have got to be hurting a lot struggling seniors who depend heavily on interest income. And this hurt will mutiply many fold when the bubble bursts and those who took great risks to protect their standard of living get seriously hurt yet again.
