Good post. It's also possible he's simply trying to cool things down without going into a bear market. Once things start to cool down let's see what he starts doing with the money supply. Knowing how much Greenspan loves credit creation my guess is that he'll start the presses again. Not sure what the lag time is before the effects are felt, but I think it may be premature to say that he's embarking upon a new direction until the econ numbers start changing.
