OK, it's an earthquake. But would you please characterize for me the impact of what I referred to as the previous paradigm shift. I still don't know what you think about that. If "holy matrimony" is a ten and gay marriage is a zero, where on the scale would you put civil marriage as practiced today? Please understand that what I'm trying to understand is not why people oppose gay marriage. I already understand that. What I don't understand is why they don't also disparage today's version of civil marriage, even if they disparage it to a much lesser extent.
