I personally believe, though I have no proof of this, that the REAL reason we took Saddam out NOW was because of our fear that he would TERRORIZE other ME countries and blackmail them into using their oil as an economic weapon against the West. Secondly, I believe the fear of WMD falling into the hands of terrorists through outright gift or sale by the Baathist regime was very real. David Kay's report supports that contention also. Finally, their MIGHT have been the fear that if we didnt act Israel would, likely using nuclear weapons to subdue Saddam, which would have inflamed the entire middle east causing untold upheaval throughout the World. jdn
