Did voting for the 850 million Sgt. York missile system (which turned out to be totally useless) make a Senator a "big man"? Not all defense systems are useful and not all defense bills are clean or pork spending. Having said that, Kerry is on record as saying he should not have voted against a few bills in the 80's. He has changed his priorities since then, especially after 9-11, as we all have.
