I applied for and recieved the margin account so that I could go ahead and continue to trade during the 3-5 day period that previous sells are being settled.

So I sold some stock and bought new stuff on the margin a couple of days ago. Even though I know I have in excess of 26K cash in my account the balances show only 3k in equity the cash and margin balances are negative and if I try to trade I get the error message that I don't have enough money in my account to buy stock.

I have less than 26K in securities on my portfolio so its very confusing. I thought I would have the ability to own 26K in securities in my portfolio, with the additional opportunity to borrow from that and buy another 13K worth of margined securities.

I just sent them a message complaining that the new system is scary and wacco.
