So we met our objectives? We won? Did I miss the memo?

So, is Saddam still in power? Did he implement the Samson manuever and kill 10,000 Americans? No, he fell quickly and now he's in our jail. While going over the pre-war predictions of the pro-war camp, check out the pre-war predictions of the anti-war camp - Stalingrad-on-the-Tigris, 100,000s of dead, millions of refugees, humanitarian catastrophes. Neither side was exactly correct. Which side came closer to the eventual reality?

If we can suppress the remains of this insurgency (and I do believe that the Zarqawi memo is for real; we are making progress, but it's going to be slow), then if Sistani can work out a deal in which he is the chief political figure of Iraq, he's welcome to it for me. Just as long as he doesn't breed a civil war.
