Don't you think it's kind of weird how we expect politicians to be models of fidelity, when we generally don't care about sexual mores very much among our acquaintances and business associates? It's almost as if the politicians have to be faithful for us.

Yes, it's a travesty.

JFK's and RFK's pecaddilloes did not interfere with their ability to brilliantly handle the Cuban Missile Crisis; Jefferson's wanderings did not matter....the examples are legion. These kinds of things don't matter much except in the US.

Why? Who knows. Perhaps the French and others are correct about out lack of sophistication.

However, the question I have is this: Except for a few generally insignificant Republicans like John Tower, why is it that Dems seem to be the ones who are generally involved?

If this is politically significant, it only helps Edwards, who is an wet-behind-the-ears trial lawyer that might, just might, give Bush a run for his money.
