btw what report is it on the BLS website that shows average salary? I have never seen anything like that. Links to the reports on the BLS site don't work so just tell me which report it is and I will search. Wage deflation is a little misleading because as engineers and accountants are forced to take retail jobs, "avg hourly wage" goes down, but it would be more meaningful for a wage gauge by profession.
