If it was there would have been plenty on this thread about his son just like there was on all the political threads on 2000.

No, there would not have. I would have kicked the posters off for posting it. I think the "Laura Bush" URL was really off limits, also. Go after the Candidate, not his kids.

Rush comments on the Drudge report.

Don't Jump Too Soon on Kerry Hit,

Interns Only Enhance Democrat Resumes

February 12, 2004

BEGIN TRANSCRIPT 12:05 PM ET

RUSH: We got a world exclusive as reported on the Drudge Report. Here's the headline. "Campaign drama rocks Democrats. John Kerry fights off media probe of recent alleged infidelity. His rivals are predicting ruin." And I should point out that Drudge has this first because the networks are in a race to report this story second. None of the networks want to be first on this; he's their boy. And this business about alleged infidelity and his rivals predicting ruin, don't jump too quickly here, folks, remember we're talking about Democrats and interns, and on Democrat résumés, interns are résumé enhancements. They have been in the past. That's experience that we have to go with.

Here's what Drudge has on his page. "Frantic behind the scenes drama is unfolding around Senator John Kerry and his quest to lock up the Democratic nomination for president. Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country reportedly at the prodding of Kerry. A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Senator Kerry has been underway at Time magazine, ABC News, the Washington Post, and the Associated Press where the woman in question once worked." That's what I mean about the networks being in a race to be the second to report this.

"A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year, claiming fantastic stories, stories that now threaten to turn the race for the Democratic nomination on its head. In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week General Wesley Clark plainly stated Kerry will implode over an intern issue. Three reporters in attendance confirmed that Clark made the startling comments. Clark now today has been seen yelling at a reporter saying, 'It was supposed to be off the record!' The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources have told the Drudge Report." A woman was also approached by ABC News a few weeks ago, and as I say, all these networks, I mean, they've been sniffing this out but nobody wants to break it. This is sort of like the Lewinsky situation. You know, Newsweek had it and they spiked it. The networks apparently all know about this, and they're in a race to be second to report it.

She worked for AP, the woman worked for AP, and Kerry has been trying to get her to go out of the country. She's out of the country but her girlfriend has ratted her out, got letters, there are letters, there's a picture of the woman already out there. I haven't seen that, but there's a picture of the woman that's already out there floating around. The woman worked at AP, yes, her girlfriend ratted her out, apparently. I've been doing some digging myself on this since I first learned about this about a half hour ago. All these networks have been working on this story, but now they don't have to be the first to report it. Drudge has. So maybe the dam is going to break now and we'll find out what all is behind this. Now, one thing about this is true, Dean has reversed course. He’s saying, "I'm staying in there," and Dean is all of a sudden fighting back at Kerry like crazy. I've got a couple stories in the stack today.

Now, the first impression people are going to have: this is a Clinton hit, it's a Clinton hit. You've got to go back, folks, and Deborah Orin has a piece today, some Democrats finally admitted it, that the Clintons got rid of Dean because Dean was taking over, and they had to get Dean out of there because they don't want anybody to win this race in '04 to set up Hillary. Well, that's fine and I agree and I even said it myself, but if the Clintons have this Kerry hit in their file and don't forget, Gore endorsed Dean. I mean this has been known apparently for a long time. People have had inside knowledge of the Democratic Party about this for a long time. I mean, this is not just something that's come up in the past couple of weeks. People have known about this for a while. So if this Kerry hit, if this is true, if the Clintons are behind it, they're doing it a day after, a couple days after their boy Clark gets out of the race, which is a little odd, unless they saw Clark campaign and say he doesn't have a choice anyway, doesn't have a chance anyway, he's not our guy, let's dump him. Let's get rid of him and then we'll take care of Kerry, and what does that do? Throws it open to Edwards, and I don't know how that helps the Clintons right away. We just have to wait and see, but at first blush, it does look like a Clinton hit.

If it is a Clinton hit, and let's face it, who's running this party and who wants to run this party and who wants to have control of this party all the way through 2012 and maybe 2016? it's the Clintons. But just the irony of Kerry having an intern problem and having the news leaked by Clinton in order to destroy Kerry is just too juicy, ladies and gentlemen. As I say, the woman's picture is out there. A number of Democrats off the record are privately saying, "Damn it, we knew something like this was going to happen, it was just too good to be true." Al Gore supposedly knows about it. Gore supposedly vetting a file now from 2000 trying to get to the bottom of this out there. Lehane, Chris Lehane may have some volleys with Gore and has been with Gore, so we'll just have to wait and see. But that's what's rocking the Democratic presidential primary at this moment.

Now there was a reporter kicked off the Clinton campaign after rumors surfaced in the '92 campaign, also an AP babe. That's right, there are a lot of similarities here. But I don't know that that establishes a Clinton connection. By the way, Mister Broadcast Engineer, did you ever get that song, by the way? All right. Been trying to get a song up there to New York just so I could hear it, in a fully stereophonic matter with great high fidelity, super superheterodyne whine, and so just check that. You have to get the Hillary lockbox ad that we put together, because she's made the list, Men's Journal has named the 25 toughest guys in America, and Hillary is number 25. I told you people that this lockbox, the testicle lockbox of Hillary Clinton was just an ideal, perfect way to categorize her, so we're just going to sit here and wait. Now, I've got the networks on here and we'll see just how long it takes for this Kerry story to hit. It's out there, the dam's been busted. I don't know if the Kerry campaign has been confronted yet about this, if they've said anything, but they clearly will, and one thing, I don't remember where I saw this, but Teresa - it used to be Ter-EES-a but a week ago she said she wants it pronounced Ter-AIZ-a - Teresa said she'd kill him if she ever caught him cheating. I mean, euphemistically speaking, you know, in typical matrimonial lingo, she said she'd kill him if he was caught cheating. I'll bet she does have her own lockbox. I'll bet you ten to one she's got her own lockbox. Let's take a brief time-out here, ladies and gentlemen, back in just a second. I mean, I don’t know what this is. I don't know what to do now. I've got this incredible stack of Kerry stuff, and he may be finished, but I can't assume that so we'll continue as we were scheduled and normally planned to do here and just sit here and wait for the bombs to drop and then go off.
