I used to live in Boston then moved to LA. My parents moved to Houston where my Dad got a new job. They associate with upper class people in both towns, and I even more as I went to the finest schools with Kennedys and Bush types.

I met Kerry in 1972 when I was just a kid. He helped found Earth Day. He was always a dynamic macho liberal visionary with extreme credibility and depth.

I visit my parents in Houston and get all the gossip about Bushes and carlyle Group/Enron. Some of their best friends are in with the Bushes. Moderate Republicans there are up ina arms against Bush it seems. They hate him. Even if some of them are rich.

One friend's kid is a major exec at Carlyle Group. Lives like a corporate rock star. That guy's mother hates Bush and Carlyle, telling anyone who will listen that her son's company is corrupt and has infiltrated the government at the highest level.

I also smell the toxic air in Houston, hear about the lousy education and health care there and get an earful about the Tom Delay's evil ways and pork barrel spending projects for special interests taking place in Texas now.

Meanwhile back in Boston, my old frinds work for Bush and Dean's campaigns, plus I work for Kerry whenever I get a chance. All of us volunteers but at fairly high levels.

I've had dinner with Kerry's top people and asked frank questions. I got frank answers. I've also had several short one on ones with Kerry where I've looked him in the eye and made sure he had the right stuff by asking the tough questions. I'm convinced. He's the nominee for good reasons. He will beat GW Bush and this intern rumor is either total BS or without merit. Either way he'll get past it. he and his wife have a very close and trusting relationship.
