Everyone needs to have a Scottish Uncle as did I. When I was VERY YOUNG he told me to PAY MYSELF FIRST. His advice was to IMMEDIATELY upon making a living deposit 10% in savings and live on the balance. Made a lot of sense to me, and I was even able to better his percentage. I retired at age 47 and have been have a BLAST for the past 13 years. jdn
